Gadget Reviews: Monday last I attended a party at “RedNights”, a club, with my friends. The occasion was special. It was the birthday of my friend ‘Amanda”. We had wine, dine and dinner there. One of my friend asked me “How it would be if you have to surf net with their eyes?” I just told him “Really GREEEEE888888.” Then I asked him how this idea came to his mind. In reply he answered that he read a article on net discussing about such technology. When I came back to home, I search on net about this. What I found I want to share with you.

Student of Standford Mr. Manu Kumar has developed a new Gaze-enhanced User Interface User Interface Design Project, which enables users to navigate web using eye-tracking technology, without the help of keyboard or mouse.

Previously it was designed for disabled persons only but now it has been designed for all. This is done by the technology called EyePoint with standard eye-tacking software.

The interface of the computer has built-in infrared lights that shine into the user’s eyes. A camera senses the reflection and the computer uses that information to pinpoint where the user is looking and now there is no requirement to move mouse and click on the target, you have already done.

I wanted to know in details about the new technology, so I searched on net and whatever I found there, I am putting it down with brief descriptions.

Abstract:

Eye-Point is a technique for pointing and selection using combination of eye gaze and keyboard triggers. It uses a two-step progressive fine-tuning action, which makes it possible to compensate for accuracy limitations of the current state of the art eye gaze trackers. While research in gaze-based pointing has traditionally focused on disable users, Eye-Point makes gaze-based pointing effective and simple enough for even able-bodies users.

Introduction:

The key and mouse have been the traditional central forms of input devices in computer. What we instruct them, they work accordingly. Now you can also use your eyes as input device, with Eye-Point. Initially it was developed for disabled users who are unable to use keyboard and pointing devises normally. However with highly decreasing inaccuracy and price it will become practical for normal person. In this post I have focused on using eye gaze for the purpose of pointing and selection, simple means how it works.

EyePoint: Pointing and Selection

EyePoint provides a practical gaze-based solution for everyday pointing and selection using a combination of gaze and keyboard. EyePoint works by using a two-step, progressive refinement process that is fluidly stitched together in a look-press-look-release cycle.

To use EyePoint, the user simply looks at the target on the screen and presses a hotkey for desired action singly click, double click, right click, mouse over, or start click-and-drag. EyePoint displays a magnified view of the region the user was looking at. The user looks at the target again in the magnified view and releases the hotkey. This results in the appropriate action being performed on the target (sidebar).

To abort an action the user look away or anywhere outside the zoomed region and release the hotkey, or press the Esc key on the keyboard.

The region around the user’s initial gaze point is presented in the magnified view with a grid of orange dots overlaid. These orange dots are called focus points and may aid in focusing the user’s gaze at a point within the target. Focusing at a point reduces the jitter and improves the accuracy of the system.

Single click, double click and right click actions are performed as soon as the user releases the key. Click and drag is a two-step interaction. The user first selects the starting point for the click and drag with one hotkey and then the destination with another hotkey.

Technical Details:

The eye tracker constantly tracks the use’s eye movements. A modified version of Salvucci’s Dispersion Threshold Identification fixation detection algorithm is used along with its own smoothing algorithm to help filter the gaze data. When the user presses and holds one of the action specific hotkeys on the keyboard, the system uses the key press as a trigger to perform a screen capture in confidence interval around the user’s current eye-gaze. The default settings use a confidence interval of 120 pixels square (60 pixels in all four directions from the estimated gaze point). The system then applies a magnification factor (default 4x) to the captured region of the screen. The resulting image is shown to the user at a location centered at the previously estimated gaze point but offset to remain within screen boundaries.

The user then looks at the desired target in the magnified view and releases the hotkey. The user’s eye gaze is recorded with the hotkey is released. Since the view has been magnified, the resulting eye-gaze is more accurate by a factor equal to the magnification. A transform is applied to determine the location of the desired target in screen coordinates. The cursor is then moved to this location and the action corresponding to the hotkey (single click, double click, right click etc.) is executed. EyePoint therefore uses a secondary gaze point in the magnified view to refine the location of the target.

Evaluation:

A quantitative evaluation of EyePoint shows that the performance of EyePoint is similar to the performance of mouse, though with slightly high errors rates. Users strongly preferred the experience of using gaze-based pointing over the mouse even though they had years of experience with the mouse.

Eye Expose: Application Switching

Eye Expose, combines a full-screen two-dimensional thumbnail view of the open application with gaze-based selection for application switching.

The Above figures show how Eye Expose works – to switch to a different application, the user presses and holds down a hotkey. Eye Expose responds by showing a scaled down view of all the applications that are currently open on the desktop. The user simply looks at the desired target application and releases the hotkey.

The use of eye gaze instead of the mouse for pointing is nature choice. The size of the tiled windows in Expose is usually large enough for eye-tracking accuracy to the not be an issue. Whether the user relies on eye gaze or the mouse for selecting the garget, the visual search task t find the desired application in the tiled view is prerequisite step. By using eye gaze with an explicit action (the release of the hotkey) we can leverage the user’s natural visual search to point to the desired selection.

Evaluation:

According to the authorities quantitative evaluation showed that Eye Expose was significantly faster than using Alt- Tab when switching between twelve open applications. Error rates in application switching where minimal, with one error occurring in every twenty or more trials. In a qualitative evaluation, where subjects ranked four different application switching techniques (Alt-Tab, Task bar, Expose w/mouse and EyeExpose), Eye Expose was the subjects of choice for speed, ease of use, and the technique they would prefer to use if they had all four approaches available. Subjects felt that EyeExpose was more natural and faster than other approaches.

EyeScroll: Reading mode and Scrolling

Eye-Scroll allows computer users to automatically and adaptively scroll through content on their screen. When scrolling starts or stops and the speed of the scrolling is controlled by the user’s eye gaze and speed at which the user is reading. Eye Scroll provides multiple modes for scrolling – specifically, a reading modes and off-screen dwell-based targets.

Reading Mode:

The Eye Scroll reading modes allows users to read a web page or a long document, without having to constantly scroll the page manually. The reading mode is toggled by using the scroll lock key – a key which has otherwise been relegated to having not function on the keyboard. Once the reading mode is enabled by pressing the scrolls lock key, the system tracks the user’s gaze. When the user’s gaze location falls bellow a system-defined threshold (i.e. the user looks at the bottom part of the screen) Eye Scroll starts to slowly scroll the page. The rate of the scrolling is determined by the speed at which the user is reading and is usually slow enough to allow the user to continue reading even as the text scrolls up. As the use’s gaze slowly drifts up on the screen and passes an upper threshold, the scrolling is paused. This allows the reader to continue reading naturally, without being afraid that the text will run off the screen.

The reading speed is estimated by measuring the amount of time t it takes the user to complete one horizontal sweep from left to right and back. The delta in the number of vertical pixels the user’s gaze moved (accounting for any existing scrolling rate) derines the distance d in number of vertical pixels. The reading speed can then be estimated as d/t.

In order to facilitate scanning the scrolling speed can also take into account the location of the user’s gaze on the screen. If the user’s gaze is closer to the lower edge of the screen, the system can speed up scrolling and if the gaze is in the center or upper region of the screen the system can slow down scrolling accordingly. Since the scrolling speed and when the scrolling start and stopped are both functions of the user’s gaze, the system adapts to the reading style and patterns of each individual user.

By design the page is always scrolled only in one direction. This is because while reading top to bottom is fairly natural activity that can be detected based on gaze pattern, attempting to reverse scrolling direction triggers too many false positives. Therefore, it has been preferred to chose to combine the reading mode with explicit dwell-based activation for scrolling up in the document.

Off-Screen dwell-based targets:

The eye tracker’s field of view is sufficient to detect when the user looks at these off-screen targets. A dwell duration of 400-450 ms is used to trigger activation of the targets which are mapped to page up, page down, home and end keys on the keyboard.

The off-screen dwell-based targets for documents navigation complement the automated reading mode described above. Since the reading mode only provides scrolling in one direction, if the user wants to scroll up or navigate to the top of the document he/she can do that by using the off-screen targets.

Security:

Well, when I want to type passwords for your paypal or email account or something other, and some is behind me, I fell uncomfortable. Even sometimes I could not say them to go some other place for a while. You can understand. But this technology has the solution. You can type keywords or password(s) to your account with eyes and no one would be able to know this.

Evaluation:

Pilot studies showed that subjects found the Eye Scroll reading mode to be natural and easy to use. Subjects particularly liked that the scrolling speed adapted to their reading speed. Additionally, they felt in control of the scrolling and did not feel that the text was running away at any point.

But after all this technology is some expensive and currently costs $25,000.

My Yahoo – with a new look

One Friday I loged in to my mail account at yahoo parker_u@yahoo.com and I found a mail from yahoo services which told that they have added new features to My Yahoo and users would be able to add what they want in more convenient and easy way. I could not stop myself. I just switched there. The new experience was very amazing with My Yahoo. What I saw there, there is a brief summery below.

My Yahoo was introduced in 1996, in the month of July. You can say it is the God Father of personalize services for web pages. After that many came like My Yahoo, but it is the first most which is still most popular that any other. Since then many changes have been done to My Yahoo to help users to experience better and better.

In new My Yahoo page you can add theme what you like. At present you can choose from nine (9) colors. I have taken Orange, it looks pretty beautiful, I like it most. More over you can change the look of your page in a very easy way. Just below the search engine box you see a link – Personalize this page- where you can change your page’s look which suits you. You can change your layout with 2, 3 and 4 columns.

You can add content to your page according to your requirement. When you will click at the button – Add Content – you will se page like below : Before saving the content to your page Yahoo asks for confirmation – Keep it. When you click on – Keep It – only after then it saves the content to your current page. With your cursor point you can adjust the position of the content on your page.

One more think I noticed. When I have added Yahoo Shopping to my page and moved the cursor it opened with magnified view. When you mover cursor to a particular item it reflects a magnified view with price value.

Development of Windows Vista in Mid-2004 to Mid-2005 (Part D)

I was quite busy so I could not come to post since last week. This post is the part of the series I have stated about “Windows Vista”.

As the time was moving on its wheels and delay in the release of Windows Vista, it made a click on the memories of Vista team that they are losing sight for what it needed to release to the world. Some of the members of vista team started to describe Longhorn as “Cairo.NET” project , which never resulted in shipping (But ended with Windows 95 and Windows NT.)

On the front page of the “The Wall Street Journal”, on September 23, 2005 an article published in which some of the answers had been given which had been interview to Jim Allchin, Microsoft Co-president. He was the person who was responsible for the development of Vista. But the answers were not sufficient to focus on the subject “when the development will end”.

Allchin had to decide the next step. In the last of month of 2003 Allchin added two other senior Brain Valentine and Amitabh Srivatava to his team, former experienced with shipping software at Microsoft, most notably Windows Server 2003 and the other spent his career in researching and developing methods of producing high-quality testing systems.

A new team was build by Amitabh Srivatava who started to map-out the Windows Operating System. At that time most skilled engineers and developers were working on Windows Server 2003. It was decided to reset the development of Longhorn, building on the same code which was being used for Windows Server 2003, instead of Windows XP and the decision was announced to Microsoft employees on August 26, 2006.

Longhorn "D1"

Build 5000: As it was decided that the next code for the development of Vista would be the same coder used for Windows Server 2003, was in use. Build 5000, was the first build based on Server 2003 code-based, and completion date was September 8, 2004. But he interface was Windows XP.

Build 5048 (built on April 1 2005) was the official WinHEC 2005 preview build, described as the Longhorn Developer Preview, and made available to WinHEC attendees on April 24 2005. It was the only build from this time period that was made available by Microsoft; it was not officially distributed outside of WinHEC, but the build quickly appeared on file sharing networks. The Aero visual style made its first appearance in this build, and the Desktop Window Manager was present but disabled and hidden by default. At the keynote presentation, Bill Gates also announced that many of the WinFX developer APIs that were originally planned exclusively for Longhorn were going to be backported to Windows XP and Server 2003, and that the final user interface for Windows would not be seen for a while longer. Other features such as device-independent resolutions, rasterized icons, virtual folders, and registry virtualization were discussed as well.

Build 5048's closer resemblance to Windows XP than to the prior Longhorn builds from 2003 surprised many, leading well-known Windows enthusiast Paul Thurrott to write: "My thoughts are not positive, not positive at all. This is a painful build to have to deal with after a year of waiting, a step back in some ways. I hope Microsoft has surprises up their sleeves. This has the makings of a train wreck." Months later, Thurrott stated that the Vista development process has since recovered in the more recent builds.

Fifteen days back it was only 12 unique visits and now it is 30+ and my profile have been viewed 889 so far (last I log in to MyBlogLog). I have now 56 members in my community and more are adding and increasing the numbers. I am not here to add you and cash some extra buck. Not at all. The main thing I admire about MyBlogLog is that it provides a platform to all the blogger like us, to communicate and understand each other. Web Technologies: Since February 14, 2007, I am posting for Windows Vista. In the coming posts I will continue and like today I will also write about other things in between the time. For today I am posting about a news for bloggers.

Today http://www.TextMarks.Com is going to announce a new product claiming that it will boost revenue for site and blogs by text message services. So what is it? It is just a SMS service. By which you can have updated and breaking news from sites or blogs on your mobile phone by SMS. But it is not free of cost. Publisher will have to signs up under the monetize for Textmarks account and choose a price for subscribers, either $4.99 or $9.99 per month.

Then after publisher can add a Flash Widget to site and the reader can subscribe by this Flash Widget or by sending text message to 41411 with a unique keyword. After confirmation they will receive alerts to their cell phone. US cell phone users, using Verizon, Alltel, Cigular or Sprint would be able to use this service, because at present it is only available in US only. The news which is to be sent by SMS will be decided by the publisher and up to 100 alerts can be sent per month to the subscribers.

Totals revenue’s 66.66% (2/3) will be taken by TextMarks and Carriers and 33.33% (1/3) will be given to the publishers. From the 2/3 of the revenue for Carriers and TextMarks, TextMarks will keep 15%.

I read comments on various forms and blogs. Some the commentators like it. But the majority is against. Some of them asked that they can have this service through the RSS of the site and Google Reader, free of cost and on the net there are so many sites by which they can get latest news what they are searching for. Many of them told that they will wait for this service to be free. I wnat to know your opinion, Are you ready to pay to have alers on your mobile phone for the sites you love to read.

Vista Review: Development of Windows Vista in 2003 and early 2004: New technology (Part C)

Milestone 4
Build 3718 was completed on November 19, 2002. After that for long time there was no sign of activity from Microsoft. But Microsoft was on its way to work. Next year, on February 19, 2003 Microsoft completed its next build – Build 4008. Like others which made its appearance on net in the first week of March, 2003. The Build 4008 was confidentially handled with selected group of developers. Some evolutionary features had been added to it, adding with a modified blue – Plex – theme, new simplified Windows Image based installer that was capable to operate in graphical mode from the outset, and complete an install of the operating system in around on third the time of Windows XP on the same hardware. A thinner taskbar than the previous build had been added to this new build which displayed the time differently.

Milestone 5

The next milestone for Microsoft was Build 4015, which was completed on March 28, 2003 and of course was leaked to internet on 28th April, 2003. Some new feature added to this build was (a) range of parental controls (b) additional configurability for the sidebar and (b) notion of libraries (virtual folders) of files. These libraries collected text or content from around the hard drive and the use could filter the content and save it to his/her desired folder. Initially Microsoft wanted to drop some special shell folder like My Documents, My Music, My Pictures etc., buy these change were dropped after the release of Beta 1 in mid 2005.

At the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) conference in May 2003, Microsoft gave their first public demonstrations of the new Desktop Window Manager and Aero. The demonstrations were done on a revised build 4015 which was never released. A number of sessions for developers and hardware engineers at the conference focused on these new features, as well as the Next Generation Secure Computing Base (previously known as "Palladium"), which at the time was Microsoft's proposed solution for creating a secure computing environment whereby any given component of the system could be deemed "trusted". Also at this conference, Microsoft reiterated their roadmap for delivering Longhorn, pointing to an "early 2005" release date.

Build 4028 (build date of July 1 2003) was the first known Server build before Beta 1, and was based on Windows Server.NET RC1, which later became Windows Server 2003. Traditional client bits, such as visual style and look, were present but disabled by default. Build 4029 (build date of June 19 2003), was leaked on September 23 2003. This build contained few of the technologies new to build 4015. Windows Explorer went through a number of other changes. Larger image and video previews were displayed in a tooltip when the mouse hovered over a file, column-level filtering of results was introduced, and overall performance of Explorer was somewhat improved over build 4015, though the memory leak issues were not entirely resolved. There was also a new analog clock user interface. Batch image processing of images was also introduced, making it possible for a user to rotate a number of images at once.

Build 4029's name was displayed as "onghornLay rofessionalPay" (Pig Latin for Longhorn Professional) in various places around the operating system. While some had presumed that screenshots of this build were fake because of this seemingly obvious mistake, Microsoft later explained that this was merely a test of some new code to locate and reduce the number of places in the operating system code that the name was defined.

Milestone 6

Build 4033 (build date of July 17 2003) was similar to 4029, but contained some UI improvements, including an updated Plex theme.
Official PDC 2003 build (build date of October 1, 2003 with a build number of 4051) was not released to the general public, but it did leak on October 20, 2003. It introduced a new Slate theme. Some visual changes included:
Added the Documents folder, for sharing documents with other users.
Added the Photos and Videos folder, for sharing pictures and videos with other users.

My Contacts was replaced by Contacts.
My Computer was replaced by Computer.
My Network Places was replaced by Network Places.
Build 4053 (build date of October 22, 2003) was leaked on March 2 2004 and had some minor changes.

Milestone 7

Build 4074 (build date of April 25 2004) - Official WinHEC 2004 preview build. Leaked in May 2004. This build introduced a new Jade theme, and replaced many XP icons with new Longhorn icons. Also, the font Segoe UI was introduced for the Jade theme.

Build 4083 (build date of May 16 2004) - Leaked on November 10 2004, and was the last leaked 64-bit XP-based build. Both Sidebar and WinFS were dropped from this release. Considered highly unstable, including the absence of programs in the start menu and driver and installation issues.

Build 4093 (build date of August 19 2004) - The last leaked 32-bit XP-based build. Considered highly unstable. Contained Sidebar, WinFS, and an Avalon-based Windows Movie Maker.

Software Reviews: Development of Windows Vista in Year 2002 – (Part B)

Windows Vista is the name which revels the truth that everything is created by GOD. At the beginning even Microsoft did not think this grand release. Microsoft wanted to change some feature for XP and release Longhorn (code name of Windows Vista) as the intermediate between its next coming grand operating system. When XP was released the marketing policies and public relations were more focused on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, which was to be released in early 2003 and Windows Server 2003 was released in April, 2003. Simultaneously the development of Longhorn was on it secret way. But in the mean time some builds of Longhorn were leaked on some most popular file sharing networks, some of them are IRC, bittorrent, edonkey.

For these builds at the bottom-right-corner of the desktop there was a label, just like “Build 3683.Lab06_N.020923-1821” and it was the key by which it was recognized. The build number has some secret meanings. The build was made by different research teams, on completion build was tasted by developers and after tough examination it was added to main stream software. The lab from which the related build was generated, the come number was added to the build followed by date and time. Below I want to snatch your couple of minutes for these milestones:

Milestone 1

Build 3646: The first know build for Longhorn is “Build 3646” and it as was built on 12 June 2002 with build label "Lab01_N(portbld).020612-1346”.

Milestone 2

Build 3663: The Build 3663 was completed on 28 July, 2002 and was the first build for which screenshots were leaked. It was the first sighting of the "Plex" style which Microsoft regarded as a place-holder theme for their development versions, until they were ready to demonstrate Aero. Screenshots of Build 3670 (build date of August 19 2002) also showed a variation of the Device Manager implemented inside Windows Explorer.

Milestone 3

Build 3683: On 23rd September 2002 the next Build 3683 was completed but like others it was also leaked on 20th October 2002 but it was the first build which was leaked to internet, also it was the first Build with working tile “Longhorn XP Professional”.

Build 3706: The date of formation is October 29, 2002 and was leaked on May 22, 2006. Yes May 22, 2006. It was finally leaked on May 22 2006. It was one of the initial builds having Desktop Composition Engine (DCE) and Desktop Windows Manager (DWM) features.

Build 3718: Build 3718 was the last build for the year 2002. It was completed in November 19, 2002 and was leaked on April 20, 2004. It was incorporated with the Desktop Windows Manager features and some early hardware-accelerated Aero effects, such as alpha transparency and transitions.

Software Reviews: Development of Windows Vista (Part A)

You would be thinking that with the name “Development of Windows Vista” why I have added “Part – A”, only because I wish to publish more about the development of windows vista. First of all let me tell you some code names for windows operating systems:
Windows XP : Codename – Whistler
Windows Vienna : Codename – Blackcomb
Windows Vista : Codename – Longhorn

I have said already in my previous post that the development work for Windows Vista was started in May 2001, five and half years back, before the release of Windows XP. Then why Microsoft did not release Windows Vista before XP. It is all nothing but Market Policies. Microsoft wanted to release XP and then Windows Vienna in late 2003. Whistler and Blackcomb were the codenames for Windows XP and Windows Vienna. Windows Vista was then called Longhorn. The motto was to release Longhorn as a pool between XP and Vienna. Means it would have some new features comparing with XP and then after Vienna would be released worldwide as the final operating system.

But God wanted something different. Gradually, Longhorn (Windows Vista) assimilated many of the latest technologies and new features which were slated for Windows Vienna and it resulted, the delay of Windows Vista for release few times. On August 2004, Officially Microsoft announced that it was making significant changes to Longhorn and it would take some more time to be released.

The development of “Longhorn” stared afresh, from the beginning. This time Windows Server 2003 codebase was being used for Longhorn. Due to this reason Microsoft has to postpone some of its previously announced features such as NGSCB and WinFS.

Longhorn was named “Windows Vista” in mid of the year 2005. Simultaneously unprecedented beta-test program was started and it was involved with thousands of volunteers and hundreds of companies. Microsoft released regular Community Technology Previews for one year between September 2005 and October 2006. Development of Windows Vista was finalized and its completion was announced on November 8, 2006 by Jim Allchin, Co-President of Windows Development.

Though this post I have just given a structure for development of Windows Vista. In the next coming post I will write in some details and years wise about the development of Windows Vista.

Sorry, for delaying in posts. Now-a-days I am very busy with some of new projects for official purposes, and not getting time to sit on my personal desktop and post new posts. Then I did not know what to answer. I searched for, read other posts and software reviews and come to conclusion that in just only one post I will not be able answer all. So from this post with regular interval of time I will post my articles for Windows Vista. All of the post will have the same subject Windows Vista - Post _ _ , only the numbers will change at the end. I am also going to add an extra link at the top of my blog for Windows Vita, naming MS-Vista, and all related post will be with this link. From Microsoft Windows, Windows Vista is the latest operating system which will be used on PCs, both for business and home desktops. Its development work was started in May 2001, before the release of Windows XP. So it takes 5 years for manufacturing. Before release, “Longhorn” was the code name for Windows Vista. The development work finished on 8th of November, 2006. In the beginning it was not released to general public, and was give to some authorized Microsoft customers and manufacturers. Windows Vista was released worldwide on January 30, 2007, and was made available in market and users were allowed to upgrade their operating system online with Windows Vista by Microsoft’s official website http://www.microsoft.com or MS-Vista. Microsoft claims hundreds of new features for Vista over XP. Some of them include Windows DVD Maker, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools, visual style, Windows Aero and graphical user interface. Moreover according to Microsoft, Vista will make it easier to share digital media and files between computers and devices. Vista also claims that with 3.0 of the .NET Framework, it will be help developers to write high-quality applications. Vista’s primary objective is to improve the state of security in Windows operating system.

Computer Backup – How Should Computer Users Backup Their Data?

Tips: We, almost all, are using Mac or Windows Microsoft PC. Sometimes due to various reasons we have to format our system. When some virus attacks, we generally run antivirus, but if in any case it fails, we have only one option to choose from, just format the system. So why, we hesitate to format our system? We, either home users or professional, have important files on computer. When we have to format our hard drive, all files lost. So we dislike to format. In corporate sector, you have to deal with different kind of data. You may be in trouble if you lose any important file.

In this article I am focusing on the main data related files just as Word Document, Excel, Notepad, Power-Point files, or picture files (jpeg or gif). If you want to drive in safe way then create a new folder and give it a unique name, which you remember easily, as for example “My file back” or “Computer Backup”. Now cut the important files from particular folders and paste or save these to this new folder. Listen, I have told you CUT the files and SAVE to the new folder. Why no copy and paste? If you are professional and working in a company, perhaps you have to deal with different kind of works. For each work you have to make new folder and you have to put specific files in that folder. Very often, the names of the files resemble. So if you just copy and paste, it might be possible, after some time you may be wondering. Suppose your have save excel files with names admin work, administration data, admin workers, admin running project. The two file admin work and admin workers resemble in name. So you have to check back that you have saved the files in the new folder or not. So it is advisable to cut and paste files to that folder and you have not to check it back again and again.

When you finish the work of saving files to this new folder, save the folder(s) to other storage device(s). Such as USB Pen Drive, CD or DVD or External Hard Drive. If you are home user it is easy to save the files to USB Pen Drive or CD or DVD. But it is very expensive to save corporate files to CD or DVD. In this case I suggest saving the files and folder to external hard drive. The new external hard drive and your existed computer’s hard drive can be connected by connecting wire and you can easily more the file from one to other.
Next time you have any trouble, and you need to format your computer’s hard drive. Follow this simple method to easily back up your files.

Run your older software in new Windows Vista

Great news for game lovers. After a long awaited time, today SONY announced officially the release of Playstation 3. The launched of Playstation 3 was postponed several times due to may reasons including producing parts of Blu-Ray Disc Drive. Any way it is now at end.

Main competitors for Sony’s Playstation 3 are Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii. Xbox 360 came in the marked 15 months back while Wii entered 3 months later.

This console will reach to Britain and European market on Mach 23 of this year with a price cost of Euro 425. Sony has announced two types of Playstation for this year 60GB HD and 20 GB HD. The former will be available in the marked at the said date March 23, while 20 GB will come later in this year. On the other hand in America Playstation will be launched in the end of the year, most probably in December 2007, with a price band of US$ 600 Approx, which is more expensive then Britain (Euro 119).

Headphones that come with portable music players like the iPod are usually adequate in delivering an enjoyable experience, but often they ate not the best choice for comfort, convenience or sound quality.

Ear-bud-style headphones that come with iPods, for example, can be uncomfortable after extended use and, if they do not fit properly, can jar loose. Moreover, many headphones are not effective at blocking outside noise, which can degrade sound quality and induce users to increase the volumes in loud surroundings.

A number of headphones options are available to improve the listening experiences on portable music players. They include wireless headsets that can free you from having to deal with wires, sound-isolating earphones that form an acoustically sealed zone inside your ear canals, and noise-canceling headphones that reduce sounds n your environment. Some of the options can work with cell phones as well, allowing you to toggle between phone calls and music.

Several wireless headphones are made for use with iPods and other portable music players. These headphones employ the wireless protocol of Blue-tooth to deliver stereo sound; a Bluetooth transmitter, included with the headphones, connets to the music player’s headphones jack and broadcasts audio to the headset when within range. Blue-tooth works at short distances, and these headsets typically enable roaming up to 30 feet from the music source.

For example, the iMuffs, from Wi-Gear (www.wi-gear.com), are about $130 and are compatible with many iPods models, including the Mini, Photo and third and fourth-generation models (but not yet with the newest iPods, like the Nano and video iPods).

Buttons on the right earpiece control the iPod’s volume and song selection, even when the iPod’s hold feature is enabled, and the headset has a batter life of up to 16 hours of continuous use before it needs recharging. The transmitter, a white plastic enclosure, plus into the top of the iPod and extends its length by about 1.2 inches.

In tests using an iPod Mini, the sound quality of the iMuffs was about the same as that of the headphones that came with the iPod. For example, in a song with the moderate range of sounds, Careless Love by Madeleine Peyroux, the bass, vocals, keyboards and guitar were clear, the wireless connectivity worked well when the headset remained within a few feet of the iPod; when roaming away from the iPod, the music was occasionally interrupted. As with the iMuffs, the headset wraps around the back of your neck and is a one size fits all dimension, though it is slightly heavier thatn the iMuffs and provdes a snugger fit. The Blue-tooth transmitter that attaches to the iPods is bulkier. It includes its own battery whereas the iMuffs transmitter dras power from the iPod.

In other tests, experts found the sound quality to be roughly equivalent to the headphones that came with the iPods. The roaming range was good, and connectivity held up well through walls and windows.

Another wireless option is from Pantronics, the Pulsar 590A Blue-tooth Headset (www.plantronics.com ). The device, about $250, has an adjustable headband that wraps over your head and a puck-shaped transmitter with a wire that connects to most standard 3.5 mm audio jacks, including those on iPods, laptops, computers, portable CD players and mini-cassette players.

Like some of the other wireless headsets, the 590A comes with a built-in microphones and can simultaneously connect with Blue-tooth enabled cell phones and music players. When cells are answered or initiated, music is automatically switched off and the call takes center stage.
